Kerala - Kannur Call for struggle against attacks on women Staff Reporter KANNUR: Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader U. Vasuki called for waging struggle against `social Darwinism' prevailing in society. Inaugurating a seminar on `Court orders and women' organised by the Student Federation of India (SFI) here on Wednesday, Ms. Vasuki, CPI (M) Central Committee member, said that there should be struggles to highlight attacks against women that were continuing in society. The policies being pursued in the education sector would provide education only to the rich, she said.
Stating that attacks on women were on the increase, Ms. Vasuki said that a court order validating marriage of a girl aged 15 was unfortunate.
Kannur University Union chairperson K.V. Lekha presided. SFI State secretary T.V. Rajesh and K.E.N. Kunhahammed also spoke.
